Indian Fashion Brands Everyone Should Know

One of my missions as a fashion blogger is to discover - and help my readers discover - brands and products that might be new to them. It's easy to always turn to the same brands we already know - let's just admit that we are all guilty of this - but it's way more interesting to research, discover and experiment with new things.

Thank God for the internet! We can now order clothes, shoes, jewelry and beauty products from far away places, just by clicking a few buttons on our computer screens. I don't think we even realize how lucky we are. Anyway, today I wanted to show you some awesome brands from India that I'm sure you will love. Let me know if you have a favorite!

A contemporary fusion of a traditional Indian and Western aesthetic, inspired by Parisian culture and the designer Varun Anand's childhood memories of India. He makes clothes for the hectic lifestyle of today's busy urban youth - his "smart shirts", designed to fit both casual and formal occasions, can take you from day to evening, from the office to the after hours.

Crazy Palette is like a virtual candy store where you can find the prettiest hand painted lifestyle products, such as bags, cushions and iPad covers. Their handbags and clutches, my personal favorites, come in all shapes and sizes and in a variety of materials, but what they all have in common is a unique colorful and feminine aesthetic. Rishma Lath, the creative mind behind the label quit her desk job to start Crazy Palette - and I think we can all agree that she made the right decision.

Surendri by Yogesh Chaudhary is a brand for the modern woman with traditional roots. The unique prints and draping techniques are the designer's signature and they definitely make a bold and beautiful fashion statement. Surendri designs are meant for women of all shapes, sizes and body types, which is an awesome way of doing business, if you ask me. I wore a pair of Surendri Pacman earrings in this post.

Just Jewellery, conceptualised by women entrepreneurs Sandhya and Jasmine Shah (mother-in-law and daughter-in-law) is a beautiful combination of artistic and creative costume jewellery. They use vibrant colours, semi-precious beads and plated jatdar in their unique designs. Their first stand-alone store in South Bombay was opened in 2012. Follow them on Fb and Instagram @justjeweleryindia.
