Make Your Home Cozier With Flour Sack Towels

The kitchen is the heart of every home. This is where the food gets prepared, where the family gathers together and where important conversations take place. This is where cinnamon rolls bake in the oven, stew cooks in a pot and dough rises on the countertop.

People put a lot of effort into making their kitchens look perfect - some like granite countertops and stainless steel sinks, others choose hardwood floors and stained glass cupboards, but what really makes a kitchen stylish and cozy is the little details. Brass doorknobs, tiny succulents, fruit and vegetable still lives, copper pans and, of course, neatly folded and spotlessly clean tea towels.

As strange as it may sound, I still remember the tea towels my mother and grandmother had when I was little.  We used them all the time: for drying our hands, for convering the bread and the rising dough, for wiping the countertops and polishing the glasses. They were such permanent fixtures in our everyday lives that they are still engraved in my memory all these years later.

Now that I'm all grown up and have my own kitchen and my own family to cook for, I like to find new ways to make our life easier, prettier and more practical. One thing I've recently learned is that the best kitchen towels are made out of flour sack fabric. It is made of durable 100% cotton  that is very absorbent and lint free.

You can get really great flour sack dish towels at Mary's Kitchen. Not only are they made of premium quality cotton, washing machine and dryer friendly, but they are also easily customizable to match any decor (and they are great for crafts, too!) . If, like me, you're looking for a clean minimalist design for your home (or just a great prop for your foodie Instagram pics) you'll definitely need to get a few of these!
