Leaves on Fire
There are so many things I love about Tuscany. It's a beautiful land with great food, amazing wine and endless hills that in the fall turn into a firework of colors with patches of emerald green grass and cypresses. The air smells of burning leaves and it is chilly, even though it looks sunny and warm when you look out your window. Fashion-wise this means lots of cashmere,

5 Ways to Wear a Belted Coat
Today I'm taking you all on an imaginary shopping trip. I chose a simple belted Donna Karan coat, and created 5 different outfits that demonstrate how a well-chosen coat can be your faithful companion throughout the week, from a day at the office to a relaxed Sunday afternoon during the fall/winter season. Let me know which outfit is your favorite!

Badgley Mischka Bag and Riding Boots
So today we were driving on the freeway from Florence to Empoli, and we decided to take some pictures before it got too dark. It had been raining pretty much the whole afternoon, so when it suddenly stopped, we took the first exit, and found ourselves in a grey little town with not much picture background-value...or so we thought.

A Game of Pool
As the weather changes I find myself wearing heavier make-up more often. I usually go for a natural kind of look with just a little bit of eye liner, mascara, compact foundation and blush, but in the fall and winter months I often wear a darker eye shadow and red lipstick even for day. It makes me feel more

Preppy and Proud
Today I wore a preppy look in fall colors - brown, olive green and midnight blue. Heavy fabrics, like the wool of the skirt and the velvet of the jacket are a must for fall, but fortunately it was still warm enough to go bare-legged. You might have noticed that I wear bodysuits/leotards quite a lot. I am huge fan of them, because 1. they keep me warm since they're so close to my body, 2. they are a great simple addition to any outfit that I don't want to overcomplicate, 3. they save me from embarrassing panty-flashing moments when I bend over or sit down in low-rise jeans. I have many of them in all kinds of colors, but mostly black, dark blue and heather grey. They go with everything, so practical...

Furry Cashmere Poncho
Until now I was quite sceptical about weather forecasts predicting the coldest winter in the last 100 years, since the weather didn't get much colder than 22 degrees (71 F) in these last few weeks. But now I believe them. Today I woke up and there was this cold wind that gets to your bones and freezes your hands, so I put on my "hairy" cashmere poncho for the fist time this season, and I'm glad I did. I love how soft and cozy it is, the only disadvantage is having to take my hands out of the sleeves when going to the bar to have lunch or coffee to prevent the hairs from falling into my food... Otherwise, it's perfect.

Black and Purple - The Dilemma
Let me start by saying that I love the combination of black and purple. I find purple (and berry colors in general) a great colorful addition to an all-black outfit, but since it is still a dark color, it doesn't draw all the attention to itself, but instead nicely complements the look. However, this color combination seems to stir some controversy... When we shot this outfit, my husband politely informed me that black and purple are the customary colors for funerals in Italy (I ain't know nothin' about that, where I come from they wear black to funerals...) which totally shocked me, but didn't make me like this combination less. After shooting today's outfit I actually

November Rain
You might have already come across some of the pieces I'm wearing today in previous posts, but I like to play with combinations and style things differently, and besides, I am human, so I don't have an unlimited wardrobe ;) The scarf I'm wearing here is pretty much my go-to accessory when I feel like my outfit is lacking a feminine touch. I also wore it in this summer post. The skin tight jeans are also a basic which I build a lot of outfits upon, for example this one from earlier this fall.

A Gloomy Day
You know those grey and rainy fall days when you wear bright colors just to cheer yourself up and do your best to ignore the sad faces of the people on the street, so you get all dolled up and pretty and you instantly feel better about yourself and the world in general? Well, this wasn't one of those days for me. Instead, all I wanted to wear today was black and grey and baggy stuff, and let my hair hang loose and tangled and line my eyes with a heavy black kohl pencil so I can just blend into my surroundings and look just as gloomy and black as everything else around me. And that's just what I did. Please enjoy :)
