Spring Favourites

Spring is in the air, you guys! When I stepped out this afternoon there was no sign of the grey sky and icy wind I'd become so used to this winter. Instead, it was warm and sunny and a much happier place overall, which made me think of all the fun things we'll get to do (and wear!) this spring.

To me, the perfect spring wardrobe is cheerful, light and fun. It's time to celebrate the start of the most beautiful time of year, so bring on the happy colours, shiny stones and statement accessories!

In this post I've included some of my favourite pieces for the season. They are all quite different, but what they have in common is great design, exquisite craftsmanship and an amazing attention to detail.

Let me know which ones you like best in the comments below!

The Atlantic Swell ring by award-winning Scottish designer Sheila Fleet is inspired by the sea in the Orkney Islands in the North of Scotland, where she creates her beautiful and unique jewellery. It is made in Sterling silver and ocean hue enamel and is one of the designer's iconic rings. Sheila Fleet is known for her vibrant enamel colours and fine, hand-finished jewellery. The pattern on the Atlantic Swell ring captures the essence of ocean waves: an irregular but constant movement that is both calming and powerful. The beautiful bright blue and turquoise colours make it a perfect accessory for spring and summer.

The clean cut, flawless fit and subtle play on pattern and texture make this pink dress by Anna Etter a real visual treat and a refreshing piece to wear all spring. While making a strong fashion statement in and by itself, this dress is also a wonderful blank canvas for strong accessories like a large necklace or a pair of leather driving gloves. Anna Etter is an exclusive fashion brand based in Vienna, produced in limited quantity for women who want to dress modern and classy at the same time. Her garments underline femininity by combining eye catching elements with casual ones and her collections are strongly inspired by a glamorous 50's aesthetic. All garments are produced in Europe and mainly made of Italian fabrics carefully selected by the designer.

I've been slowly but steadily moving towards a more minimal aesthetic and lifestyle recently. To me it symbolizes cleanliness and order and finding joy in simplicity, so emerging Israeli designer Osnat Ambar's minimalist approach to jewellery making and her brand called TheyDream struck a cord with me. She combines bohemian and urban elements, precious metals and gemstones with abstract shapes to create jewellery with a modern but timeless aesthetic. She believes (and I couldn't agree more) that the final look is the result of a synergy between the piece of jewellery and the person wearing it. You can wear each of her pieces on their own for a clean and sophisticated look or layer them bohemian-style.

The name of the gorgeous clutch in the picture is fittingly Nenhle, which is Zulu for  'elegant'. If you buy only one bag this season, this should be it! A classic and elegant design, it is simple, practical and luxurious and it will literally go with all of your spring outfits - for both work and fun. It comes in a variety of pretty colours and two types of leather: deer and metallic lamb. The designer Norah Oyam draws inspiration from her travels all around the world (especially to the fashion capitals) and the people she meets. She uses high quality Italian leathers and has all her designs handmade in the most fashionable colours. Invest in one of her stunning creations and you will have a trusted companion for many seasons to come.

If you are looking to make a bold statement this season, take a look at these stunning necklaces by Anna Cole Ojukwu,a Ghanaian fashion designer and her brand named Pernia. She aims to create the modern woman’s fantasies in fashion by making beautiful bespoke gowns and statement accessories all inspired by the African culture. In 2015 she launched her debut beads accessories collection called “Grandeur” (see above) which was handmade, taking into consideration ladies who love unique bold statement jewellery. As a sign of dedication and enthusiasm, Anna personally designs and creates each single piece of jewellery and clothing with the hope that any woman or child who wears them feels unique.
