Eco-Print Silk Scarf

If there's one thing my mother taught me about fashion is that you can't go wrong with well-made. high quality accessories. They will, without fail, elevate your outfit and make you look elegant and put together even if you are wearing a pair of old jeans or mass market clothes head-to-toe. If you have to choose just one thing to invest in in your whole outfit, let it be your most prominent accessory.

We took these photos on our post-Christmas lunch walk and I wore my new silk scarf by Michele Craft Textile. It is made of a thicker matte silk fabric which gives it a beautiful drape, and I'm absolutely astonished by the worksmanship and quality.

The scarf is handmade in Jerusalem, Israel, with a technique called eco-printing where plants (and their beautiful natural shapes) are used to create the print on the fabric. The leaves or flowers are placed in contact with the cloth and are steamed or boiled. As a result, the plant's natural dyes are released and a beautiful "botanical" print is formed. This also means that each item is one-of-a-kind.

What I love most about this scarf, besides its gorgeous fabric, is the natural color palette of different shades of beige, brown and gray, which makes it a versatile and elegant accessory for any occasion. For my Christmas Day outfit, I wore it with a classic camel coat, a gray wool hat and a pair of chocolate brown leather gloves, much to the envy of my mother. :)
